AA Vehicle Testing Station – Sunnybrae
Client: New Zealand Automobile Association (AA)
Construction Start: July 2006
Construction Finish: May 2007
Duration: 10 months
Project Partners: Hughes Construction, Hargrave
As part of their Vehicle Testing Station portfolio expansion plan throughout NZ, AA selected Hargrave as joint venture project partners to provide a range of design and construction management services.
A café and quality fit-out, and features such as large windows overlooking the vehicle testing area, give the AA an edge over their competitors.
In this project Hargrave provided development management, project management and cost management expertise.
At AA’s Sunny brae Vehicle Testing Station space was a critical constraint.
Despite limited land area the design had to provide smooth vehicle flow, ensure pedestrian safety and provide parking areas, as well as allowing adequate queuing lengths for drive-in lanes.
Hargrave managed the pre-construction phase to identify and mitigate all issues, particularly with regards to space, access and vehicle flow.
- Delivered on time and on budget
