The ground floor of AF building was selected as a key location to improve student space on the North Campus. This project provided group and individual spaces to study, collaborate, learn and relax in a social environment. The fit-out includes four bookable meeting rooms, 40 computers plus space for students to bring their own device.
1) Contractor resource was a challenge on this project which led to the hand-over date being at risk. Hargrave led the project team to resolve this by prioritising what needed to be ready for handover and what works could be completed following occupation with minimal disruption.
2) Issues with initial joinery quality of the first units to arrive put the quality and programme at risk, however this wasresolved for the balance of joinery by holding a visit to the joiner’s factory to review the items before they were sent to site. Subsequent joinery was good quality.
Handed over on time (essential items), within Budget and to specification
