With AUT’s rapidly evolving South Campus a shortage of car parking was quickly becoming an issue. Hargrave provided project management of a new car parking facility for their South Campus.
- Fast track design and construction over Christmas break:
Negotiated rates and quantities. Developed Design stage was not undertaken because of programme. Contractor was paid to take risk on quantities and design coordination.
- Resource & Earthworks consents:
Fast track. Intensified communication and meetings with Council pre-Christmas to achieve uplifted consents in very short timeframe.
- Existing dilapidated toilet building was to be left in the middle of the car park;
Resolved through a finding house removal company who wanted to take the building away. Removal of this building resulted in 15 more car parks and associated revenue. Overall cost was a credit because services for the building no longer needed to be constructed.
