Hargrave was the Development manager, cost manager and project manager for this retirement village development
63 units and a community centre.
The aim of the development was to provide retirement homes that are comfortable and affordable with low running costs.
Fitting the required number of units onto the site was a challenge due to widely varying terrain levels and the presence of a deep gully running through the site. Using large retaining walls and 20,000m2 of cut and fill helped to provide sufficient level land area. But a key constraint was maintaining levels in a 1/30 ratio for services, roads, driveways, and to avoid the need for handrails.
We provided on-site management throughout construction of the 31 units and community centre built so far.
71 one and two bedroom units, and a community centre that is comfortable and affordable with low running costs.
The key construction challenge was very wet site conditions.
Hargrave selected all products from roofing to furniture to drive value and affordability.
